Susan D'Alonzo Ament was recently awarded the “Service To Children Award” from the Office of the Child Advocate. This award honors Susan for her 10 years of commitment in supporting the children of Delaware as an attorney guardian ad litem. Susan’s dedication has certainly helped make a difference in the lives of these children. Her hard work, concern, and kindness have touched each child she’s supported in her many years of service.
She is always there at any given time day or night when the children need someone to be there for them in their troubled lives. There have been many good times along the way, with Susan enjoying a lot of pizza and ice cream, and even learning what “heelys” were for a special birthday…the list goes on!
Susan’s endless hours of working and meeting with counselors, teachers, and social workers makes her already busy schedule somewhat crazy at times. Her office is filled with photos, letters and drawings from the children that she has helped. Susan says that seeing each child move on to a positive place is the best.
