On March 26, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland, a significant maritime incident occurred involving The Dali, a sizable container ship flying the Singapore flag. Around 1:20 AM, the vessel collided with a support pillar of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, part of Interstate 695. The impact caused portions of the bridge to start collapsing, and as a result, its structural integrity was compromised, leading to the entire structure falling into the river below.
